I have now fully completed my final piece, and i am about 99& complete my workbook, the only area which i need to improve is this blogging. Into lecture i am going to pitch my final artifact to the group and show what progress has come on in my workbook.

Me and Patrick went to watch (My Bloody Valentine 3D) it was such a good film, it made us interactive on a while new level we felt one with the film and the 3D just enhanced the experience. The 3D aspect was extraordinary film was literally in your face and the pick-axe with a human eye attached to it was in touching distance. Unreal experience.

POV or point of view is used to give the audience a sense of being inside the character, you see what they see, for instance say in a action film, the hero could be looking for the villain and the director sets the mood so that you the viewer are inside the hero and engaging in the suspense of finding them before they find you.

POV is used 99% of the time infilms we see today, its a camera angle which has really grown and is mainly used in Horror genres to scare the audience, but it hasn’t always been around, Dziga Vertov used POV in 1929 in the film man with a movie camera, viewers literally jumped out of their seats and ran when they saw the train what they thought was crashing in through the cinema screen, because they hadn’t seen anything like this before it scared them and many others, Vertov was a man way before his time, his ideas of editing, camera angles and special effects baffled the audience, critics and other directors, Manovich says he inspired others to experiment.

POV was such a simple idea made famous by it’s effect and impact it has on the audience.

Over Christmas i developed my idea further, i now know where my piece will finish up, i know how many different endings i want and what buttons will do what.

My workbook does need some more work, but i know i will easily finish that off before the deadline which is the 11th Feb 2009.

The music and the video are a great look and an inspirational piece of work. I would love to steal the background and use it on my flash site, if it was possible i would do it, instead i will have to look through flash sites and look for something similar

This week i found this video called Universe Sandbox – An Interactive Space Station, its linked in to my final idea. the idea around space and exploration.

This video looks really good and if i could create something of this quality around this idea that would be great.

The Sistine Chapel is a great example of Immersion, being able to look everywhere, 360 degrees and see nothing but art, being completely surrounded and included in the art. It’s not art as in one subject viewing a piece of art instead te subject and the art are one.
